Before I started this journey, I had a complicated relationship with my own mum. It was, and still is - a part of the reason you are currently reading this.

My mum and I didn't just have our own unique problems, we had a poor relationship. One that the current me, in hindsight - is grateful for.

I'm grateful because I recognise that it could've been worse - and more importantly, if things weren't the way they were - then we wouldn't have reversed the emotional disconnect for more sons. For more mothers.

It wasn't long ago when this happened to me, when our poor relationship stretched all the way into my adulthood.

See, ultimately, what is not fixed or confronted in his younger days (in his key development phase) can cement inside of him indefinitely.

That is why I speak to you now, because I lived through the silence, the awkward dinners, the nights I saw my own mum try so hard to break through - only for her to say all the wrong things.

Though, it wasn't her fault. She suffered as a child. She had to go through some unspeakable series of events. She's been through a lot.

And the details of her story itself are best left for another day. Just know that story though is the thing that kickstarted The Informants - and to this day... she herself doesn't know it.

Yep, she doesn't know about The Informants...

She is completely unaware of what her son has been up to. She has no idea how many lives she's changed for the better. Maybe one day soon she will. Maybe if and when this page finds her... in the same way it's found you.
